Simply brilliant Minimal Electronics from Veronica Vasicka and Marc Houle from New York City, USA. “Placita” is definitely one of the best tracks recently released from contemporary artists. In my opinion, a must-have for everyone being into Minimal Synth/Wave.
Érick dug out two further ADN’ tracks from 1985 with an additional line-up including a female singer and a bassist. The A-side brings us a brilliant Minimal Wave track which is especially due to the additional female vocals and the bass, of course. The B-side is a lovely pure Minimal Electropop tune, nice! The tracks were recorded live onto a cassette recorder, so the sound quality must not be compared to professional recordings. Anyway, these are two great Minimal Wave/Electropop tracks and lucky as we are they come from the pre-digital era, so don’t miss it!
Érick has left an ever lasting impact on Anna with his incredible 1982 album “Jazz’ mad”. After exploring the fields of ambient electronics in recent years, now he’s back with his second proper ADN’ album including both new compositions as well as unreleased older tunes. No computer, no MIDI system, just a man and his machines.
The first full-time album from ATMOSPHERE 0 compiling their output from 2003 to 2006. Pure minimal electro with virtual analogue synthesizers. The CD includes the same titled 12”EP from 2003. 
This is a contemporary minimal electro act from Italy consisting primarily of Matteo S.B. (Ex-Spiritual Bats singer, Italian Gothic Rock). Here Matteo works with virtual analogue synthesizers only, pure electronic stuff! This 12”EP comprises the tracks “Intro – Cold Light”, “Atmosphere 0”, “Red Mars”, “New Age” and “Blue Light” and was released in a blue vinyl edition (100 copies only) and a black vinyl edition (500 copies) privately on Matteos label Minox Records in 2003.
This double-A-sided single was produced for promotion to the A&R dept's, via most the major record labels. A few were sold, and even fewer still, were hidden away - forgotten in the top of a cupboard. The single was written and recorded in just two long days by Aupheus. 'Aupheus' is these days a Forensic Parapsychologist - using advanced technology to investigate the paranormal (look at the cover image….). He is currently in discussion with various TV production companies, with a view to heading up a TV factual series. Incidentally, the original cover artwork (photo montage - before computer image manipulation!) was produced by his brother, founder of The Gadget Shop, and Red5. 
Finally, this cult ’81 minimal electronics album from these Canadian synth wizards is available again on our favourite VOD label. The second LP even includes the b-side from their rare Climatic Nouveaux 7” plus eight previously unreleased tracks which were meant to be released as their second album but never was. WOW! Get it while you can!
Two Minimal Synth tracks from 1980. Music recorded by Chris Lunch with his EMS Synthi A, drum machine and a guitar (I suppose) and weird lyrics added by Frieder Butzmann. Quite cool stuff and pure minimalism galore! 
DATAFREQ is Dave Rout, known to most of us by being a second incarnation member of RATIONAL YOUTH in the late 90’s. DATAFREQ’s first vinyl appearance was on last Das Drehmoment “5th Anniversary Compilation” with their smasher “Just like 1981” which just opens this first 10 track album. Vintage Electropop as we love it!
Deux were already pretty well known in the minimal synth scene due to their two classic 7”s “Felicita/Game and Performance” and “Europe/Paris Orly” both released in France in 1985. It is great to see those rare tracks being re-released on CD format together with many previously unreleased tracks (demos, studio and rehearsal) ranging from 1982 to 1992, among them the great early tracks “Minimaliste”, “Le Couloir”, “Decadence” and “Dance with me” which is so incredibly typical French. The original 7” track “Europe” is unfortunately not included on this compilation, but an English sung take called “Sex and Trouble” can be found so you need not start crying.

Enfant Terrible presents a double LP collecting 22 of the best tracks by Ende Shneafliet (of which 20 were never released on vinyl before). All material on this album was recorded in the period ranging from 1981 to 1983 and taken from the various cassette albums that the band released on their own Trumpett label. It was long overdue that a “Best of” vinyl or CD by this pioneering Dutch electronic experimentators ENDE SHNEAFLIET was released, so thanks to Enfant Terrible. Of course, a must-have for any minimal electronics collection!
We all know them, we all love them. These Australian electronic music pioneers brought us the strongly lasting “Accidents in Paradise” EP in 1981 including the incredible “Proximity Switch” and other unforgettable tunes. All of them are included on this self-produced 18-track CDr together with additional material from 1981 to 1985.
Yes, they even did a very nice full time album full of lovely synth pop tunes. If you liked the 7” tracks this one is right for you! CD also features “The Show” in the so called STE Mix.
Sean McBride’s great Minimal Synth/Wave project from New York City, USA. The project was previously called Moravagine. You can’t do wrong here!
"Freispiel" is a classic and fast typically German-sounding minimal electronics tune in the vein of early MARKUS, PIEFKE & PAFKE, TI-THO and the likes. Weird synth-sounds (like pin-ball machines), Casio VL-Tone, Roland TR-808 and brilliant minimalistic and propulsive bass-synth sequencer make this 7" a must-have for your collection. The b-side "Elvis" is unfortunately not worth mentioning or listening to (in my opinion).

Cold and monotonous uptempo Minimal Electronics from Miami, USA, with lots of vintage sounds (Roland CR-78, etc.). First track (“Kuru”) is sung in English and may have evolved from 1980, second one (“Plaza de América”) is in Spanish and reminds me a bit of HUMAN PUPPETS while the last one (“Amongst the Waves”) is an instrumental which sounds a bit more modern and quite stomping, no ? Interestingly, Marcel (SICKDOLL) was newly-discovered by Minimal-talent scout Jörg when playing his very first concert together with CAMERA OBSCURA and SOLITUDE FX in Hannover last year. Soon later, the first song called “Am Rande des Universums” appeared on the “2 Hemden und 2 Hosen Vol. 5” single while now we got the first SICKDOLL release. Four tracks (Sohn geht ab, Schlafen, Freiheit and Grüne Fee) are presented and they are all very nice.
After their first vinyl appearance on Anna Logue Records earlier this year here’s the next minimal synth attack from SLEEP MUSEUM. This time on Mark Solotroff’s (Intrinsic Action) Industrial/Noise label Bloodlust, so we wouldn’t wonder that “Street” is a bit more industrial than the album tracks. The flipside brings us “Theology” and “Hate”. Great minimal electronics in a limited edition of only 300 copies! 
What more can Anna say but SONNENBRANDT are just brilliant?! And forgive me, Jojo, it must be said: If you like DAS KABINETTE, buy this! True! Minimal Analogue Electropop at its best! Watch out for upcoming full time album.
Incredible but true, Antonios Stratis and Albert Klein are recording together again! This CD (not a CDR!) contains both new recordings as well as remastered tracks from the early tapes. The new tracks have a slight modern dancefloor feel with a heavy beat, but also ambient touches. Most fortunately, this CD includes the tracks “Foggy Weather” and “Mystery Trip” from the “New Face” tape, as well as the wonderful “Under Water”. In my opinion, the very best tracks from STRATIS after the evergreen “Herzlos”. Also included here is the alternative instrumental version of “Herzlos”, namely “Nightfly”, which appeared on vinyl last year.CDs are new and shrinkwrapped.

No, you are NOT dreaming! This is the ORIGINAL 7” by THE HIGHER PRIMATES from 1980!!! With a friends’ help I managed to track down the band members and fortunately they had some stock of this brilliant minimal synth pearl. In agreement with the band members, Anna is not selling this gem at exorbitant prices, and there’s quite some copies left so everyone being interested shall be able to get a copy.
The compilation’s subtitle tells us “French Synth-Wave 1979/85” and this is exactly what you get! Apart from the great music there is a thick CD-booklet (in both the LP and CD edition) that is quite informative (if you speak French though….). All in all a very nice and essential compilation and an interesting peek into the French underground synth and wave scene of the early 80’s.

The first vinyl sampler from Hamburg’s NLW label in 10” format brings us 80’s electronics, NDW and synth pop. Opened by the wonderful SONNENBRANDT, here indeed is the first hit, “Herz aus Geld”, being unequalled electronic NDW this track alone is worth buying the record! The other artists are: ANTI TRUST (a bit 90’s synth pop with stompy beat), MATTHIAS SCHUSTER (hello to Robert and Gabi, no ?, from 1981!), VOLL WIRKSAM (typical German minimal electronics/NDW from 1981!), KONFORM (Malte Steiner’s minimal electronic gadgets), OPPENHEIMER ANALYSIS (wonderful synthpop heroes), THE SILICON SCIENTIST (ah, Stefan is just releasing on Anna, so what can I say, but his music is hautingly beautiful), KLINGELTON 17 (an excerpt only, but nice when finished one day), DAS INSTITUT (reminds me a bit of Kirlian Camera, not the lyrics though…).
Great new album on Kernkrach/Hertzschrittmacher compiling previously unreleased material from both old and new bands ranging from lo-fi Casio minimalism to minimal electronics to electropop. Probably you won’t be able to live without owning this sweet vinyl also due its creative wrapping once again. The English title translation reads “(S)lip services”, so now you guess why there is an individual slip wrapped around the sleeve. The fourth release on the Berlin based label Disorder brings us five brilliant tracks from German Minimal Electro acts: File not Found – Star (After releasing a CD as “We.” Daniel and Martin went on as File_Not_Found, fantastic electronic pop with lots of great sounds), Notstandskomitee – Uhrwerkwelt (tape version – Malte Steiner’s Minimal Electronics), Trans-Active Nightzone - Eyes are Burning (Dirk from Echo West and Keen K together, for Anna the best Electro-Wave track in years), Bakterielle Infektion - My Life’s Unreal (clean version), Stratis – Nightfly (basically the varied instrumental version of “Herzlos”, but with additional insect noises).
One of ANNA’s all time electronica favourites, such a fine album. If you like spacey instrumental electronics which also features the all time classic Roland CR-78 drum machine, this one is for you. VELVET UNIVERSE are still active and currently setting up their own web site, so watch out for more to come! 
The Arp Odyssey, Korg MS-20, Korg SQ-10, Roland CR-78 and Roland SH-09 are depicted in the booklet and oh boy this is really what you get! Full analog power! Then there is even more rhythmic work from old Korg Mini Pops and Casio keyboards and manually played sequences and melodies on the VL-1…. what else can you ask for ? So, if you wanna drift back to 1981 with its cold and harsher atmosphere, buy this … in no doubt a fantastic album from the beginning to the end!
